Member Spotlight

Member Spotlights feature part-time residents who are doing extraordinary things in life, and in the PTown community. One member recounts a town employee once said to him,  "You're a part-timer? But I see you here all the time!" To participate in Member Spotlight and tell your Provincetown story, please contact us.


Member Spotlights have been on hiatus for several months. During that time, the PPRTA has continued its efforts to provide a voice for Provincetown Part-time resident homeowners. The Association has made some in-roads despite being met by a repeated inaccurate depiction of Provincetown part-time residents. Indeed, the president of this organization has often fallen prey to these inaccurate stereotypes. And so, Spotlights returns to its mission of presenting true portraits of PPRTA membership. It seemed fitting to begin with an interview of PPRTA President, Steve Fossella.

Jack grew up in Manhattan, and spent summers at his family’s home in Osterville. On the first Friday of August 1990, at low point in his life, Jack, age 35, came to Provincetown for the first time, on the invitation of a friend who said, “Come to Provincetown.

Thirteen years ago, in the dead of winter,  Alexandra’s partner Patricia suggested a getaway to Provincetown, and Alexandra, originally from Haiti,  responded “Are you out of your mind?”  They arrived on a grey day in February.
